Drop in for a friendly game or sharpen up in tournaments, youth days, and chess lectures. Four days a week, all summer, every level and age welcome.
1. e4 — the game begins
Four days a week, 10AM–4PM.
We open the room Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, all through July and August. Same hours every day — come for an hour or stay till close. We keep club ratings too, so we can match you with similar-level players.

Bughouse Chess
Join us for Bughouse Chess! A cool 2v2 variant of chess where you play in pairs. Every time you capture one of your opponent's pieces, you give to your partner, who can drop that piece anywhere on their own board against their opponent.
July Chess in the Park
Come play casual friendly games with local KW and visiting chess players outdoors, at the beautiful Heart Park in Uptown Waterloo. All levels and ages welcome. New players, we’ll be teaching the game rules, so please join us. 😊 This is a FREE community event! Drop in and head out any time you like.
